My friend Duke over at Cades (law firm) invited me to the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce's annual event called Chopsticks and Wine. This year's theme was wine and Vegas I guess. Anyway, they had some great food from various restaurants and tons of wine! It was held in the Blaisdell Exhibition Center and the place was pretty packed.
Restaurants and food:
3660 on the Rise – Pan Seared Bubu Arare Crusted Salmon with Yuzu Butter and Kabayaki Sauce Drizzle
Beachhouse at the Moana – Diver Scallop Sandwich, Nalo Greens and a Citrus Butter Sauce
Bistro Catering – Braised Pork Cheeks on a Warm Orzo Salad with a Syrah Sauce
Gyotaku Japanese Restaurant – Ninja Chirashi (Spicy Tuna Tartare on a Tower of Seasoned Sushi Rice)
Hakone – Wafu Doria (Japanese-style Casserole)
Hank's Haute Dogs – Gourmet hot dogs
Hanohano Room – Kona Kampachi Crudo
Le Bistro – Braised Shortribs
Mariposa – Wild Boar Italian Sausage with Braised Red Cabbage, Parsnip, Potato Puree, and Apricot Mustard
Sam Choy's – Shrimp Cake Loco Moco with Shiitake Mushroom Sauce

The Kitchen at Times Beretania – Roast Prime Rib of Beef and Kula Strawberries with Moscato D' Asti
The Poke Stop – Pulled Pork Melt with Tropical Island Slaw and Poke Sampler (Creamy Ahi, Ginger Scallion Shrimp, and Kapakahi Poke with Opihi)
Some photos of the food and the decor. They did a nice job fancying up the place. If you want to go next year, better get your tickets early cause they tend to sell out. It is about $100 per ticket. Reminds me that I better renew my chamber membership.
